Well known Bollywood Music Director Shri Salim Merchant of "Salim-Sulaiman" fame was presented with Rotary Vocational Excellence Award 2016-17 yesterday at a musical event organized by Rotary Club of Bombay West, in presence of the renowned sufi singer Smt.Kavita Seth by Rtn.Aslam Merchant, President of Rotary Club of Bombay West.

and acknowledge outstanding contribution by individuals in their chosen field
by conferring on them “VOCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD”.
The Rotary Award for Vocational Excellence is an award for
an individual, Rotarian or non-Rotarian, who has a record of an exceptional
commitment and high achievement in their chosen vocation which has been to the
advancement of that vocation and the nation.

for vocational excellence to the benefit of their discipline and to the country
in general.
Shri Salim Merchant was chosen for this Award for his outstanding achievements incomposing inspiring songs and
melodies for Bollywood, for the prestigious collaborations
with Hollywood Music Legends like Lady Gaga and International Sports Organizations
like FIFA and IPL,for his Live Super Entertaining
Musical Performances in India and Abroad, and for the innumerous Awards,
Accolades and Nominations receivedin his career spanning 25 years.
