Rotary Club of Bombay West has conferred Vocational Excellence Award on Shri Natvarbhai Desai for his yeomen service to
differently-abled people in Bhavnagar.
At the award ceremony held on Wednesday, 11th March, 2015 at the Rotary Service Centre, Juhu, Mumbai, he was introduced by ex-Sheriff and Past President of the Club, Dr Mohanbhai Patel in his inimitable style. Mohanbhai quoted Shri Natwarbhai
himself- “Haathki lakire kya badalegi
meri taqdir, taqdir badalana to merehi haathon me hai”. Thereafter, the citation was read by Vice President Rtn. Aslam
Merchant which described Natwarbhai as ‘Inspiring Example of Social Service’.
Shri Natwarbhai was then presented the citation and a memento
with Dr Mohanbhai Patel, Rtn. PP Arvindbhai Shah, Chairman of Vocational
Excellence Award Committee and VP Rtn Aslam Merchant joining PE Rtn. Shirish
Rege.
In his response to the Award, Shri
Natwarbhai took a quick stock of his prolific work over decades in the field of
service to differently-abled people, Adding that it now even covers a hostel, a hospital,
educational institute for differently-abled, proving to everyone that if you
are inspired to do good, then age is no
bar. He went on to list essentials for
good social work as “Atmabal, Manobal, Sankalpbal and Prabhukrupa”. With this,
he quipped, you can surmount all difficulties, pointing out that Dr. Mohanbhai
Patel himself is a living example of this philosophy.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Rtn.Aslam Merchant who said the Club was honoured by Shri Natvarbhai Desai by accepting the Vocational Exceptional Award.
