E-Learning Centre Launched by RC of Bombay West
Rotary
Club of Bombay West is proud to announce launch of its 3rd
E-Learning Centre at Sane Guruji Vidyalaya, Santacruz West, Mumbai on Saturday,
22 November 2014. Earlier this month,
the Club launched E-Learning Centres at Municipal Marathi School, Vile Parle
East, Mumbai and B.L.Agarwal School, Khar West, Mumbai.
This project aims to
improve the quality of primary/elementary education through expanded
availability and extensive use of high quality local language and curriculum-based
e-learning modules and thus enhance knowledge absorption - retention and
critical thinking abilities of children in the selected schools. It involves equipping
these centers with high quality e-learning modules in local languages, stitched
together to conform with state-approved curricula of primary classes and
secondary education (I to X Std) and providing projector and-power-pack sets to
each e-learning center along with arrangements for requisite maintenance over
three years. The project is part of the
Rotary India Literacy Mission launched recently with an aim to achieve 100%
literacy in India.
The Club has partnered with
Tirubaa Technologies, Pune (www.tirubaa.com) for supply of the E-Learning
System which consists of World’s
first Eco-friendly WIFI enabled High Definition Eduprojector which works on Android
Operating System and which can also work on solar energy for implementation of e-Learning in rural areas. The system comes with powerful connectivity
including Wi Fi, USB Port, HDMI ports, VGA port, TF card slot and Inbuilt
stereo speakers. Apart from SSC Board
Syllabus for STD I to X for all subjects in Marathi & English, it’s
contents include Basic Computer Education, Health & Hygiene, Value
Education, Traffic Safety Rules, Basic Literacy
Program (BLP) for Adults, etc. Cost of setting up an
E-Learning Centre around Indian Rs.50,000/-.
Rotary Club of Bombay West aims to establish 80 such E-Learning Centres
in identified Schools in Mumbai Suburbs and rural areas on the outskirts of the
City. The Club invites corporates, NGOs,
